VK Gaming have surprised fans in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the Chinese roster became champions of the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025.
The Chinese roster didn’t struggle to qualify for the Grand Final after collecting a sixth-place finish in the second pool of teams, only behind last year’s champions Alliance, 100 Thieves, ROC Esports, S8UL Esports, and Virtus.pro.
However, VK Gaming stole the show today as the Chinese had a magnificent start to the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025 Grand Final with a win in the first game of the series.
Despite showing some consistency in terms of results, with a seventh-place, a tenth-place, and two fourth-place finishes, the Chinese roster was struggling to secure points through kills. Finally, the team became Match Point Eligible for Game 6.
On Game 7, Ninjas in Pyjamas had the chance to win the championship as they were one of the last two squads on the arena alongside Wolves Esports. Despite being so close to the win, VK Gaming’s region fellows secured the map victory, a result that saw the Grand Finals going to an eighth map.
Meanwhile, on Game 8, VK Gaming had the chance to close out the match but Gen.G Esports ended up taking down the Chinese squad when both sides reached the final stage of the game. It was minutes later when VK Gaming managed to confirm the win, as they defeated Wolves Esports in the final game of the day.
With this result, VK Gaming has secured 3,000 Championship Points, 1,000 EWC Club Points, and, above all, USD$600,000. The American rosters of ROC Esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas followed in second and third place, followed by Gen.G Esports, Wolves Esports, Team Falcons, 100 Thieves, and Team Nemesis.
