Richarlison receives phone calls from two interested clubs amid Tottenham exit rumours

Tottenham forward Richarlison has emerged as a shock target for Palmeiras, with reports now suggesting that talks have been opened with the player’s agent amid confusion surrounding his contract situation at Spurs.

Richarlison’s future at Tottenham Hotspur remains uncertain, with contrasting reports doing the rounds in the past few weeks.

Earlier this summer window, it was claimed that Richarlison was eyeing a move away from Tottenham to a club where he could feature regularly as a centre-forward, with the Brazilian forward said to be aiming for a place in the national squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Richarlison, who scored five goals and registered two assists last season, has also attracted interest from clubs in both Europe and the Middle East.

Palmeiras open talks with Tottenham forward Richarlison

Before the opening of the summer transfer window, reports had stated that Richarlison was attracting interest from clubs in Brazil, although those links were quickly ruled out.

Now, a fresh report from RTI suggests that once again, sides in South America are keeping close tabs on the Tottenham forward. It is claimed that Palmeiras have opened discussions with Richarlison’s agent.

According to the report, the club’s president is already in direct contact with the player’s representative, Giuliano Bertolucci, and discussions have begun regarding the terms of a possible move for Richarlison.

Palmeiras are understood to have been long-time admirers of the Brazilian international and had even attempted to sign him on loan in the past, although that proposal was rejected by Tottenham at the time.

A more ambiguous claim has now surfaced from the outlet, suggesting that Richarlison, who has two years remaining on his current deal at Spurs, could terminate his contract and leave as a free agent, although there has been no official word from the club or the player on such a scenario.

Other South American clubs join Richarlison chase amid Spurs doubts

It is also being reported by Bolavip that Vasco da Gama president Pedrinho has made direct contact with Richarlison regarding a potential return to Brazil.

The report states that the Vasco president, accompanied by another senior board member, held a phone conversation with the Tottenham man to gauge his current situation and future intentions.

The Brazilian club are believed to be under the impression that Richarlison is unlikely to remain at Spurs for the coming season.

However, Vasco are not the only South American side in the race. Fluminense, Flamengo, and Palmeiras are all monitoring the forward’s situation closely, while Saudi Arabian sides Al Ahli and Al Ittihad have also reportedly expressed interest.

It now remains to be seen whether any of these enquiries will turn into formal negotiations with Tottenham, especially with some reports in recent days claiming that Richarlison is still determined to fight for a place under new head coach Thomas Frank.
