Kinetic Games has released a sizable new update for Phasmophobia, with a few more additions after last month’s massive Chronicle patch. The July 10 Phasmophobia update includes a few additional pieces of recordable video evidence, expanding on the new video recorder feature.
Given how much Phasmophobia has to offer, it’s easy to forget that it’s technically still in Early Access. The game’s now-outdated Steam page claims the plan is to “get to a full release late 2024,” a deadline that has obviously already been missed. Regardless, Phasmophobia has made great use of the Early Access system, and Kinetic Games has continued to frequently update the game over almost five years. It’s already a blast to play, so it’s exciting to think that it could get even better before its 1.0 launch.

The Chronicles Update came in at the right time to facilitate Phasmophobia as the next step in my ongoing fitness journey.
The patch notes for the new Phasmophobia update were published on the Kinetic Games blog, revealing that three new pieces of recordable video evidence have been added. This follows Phasmophobia‘s recent Chronicle update, which added the video recorder equipment for players to use for the first time. Audio and visual cues have been added to signify the completion of recording sounds, and the number of available media deletions has been adjusted to reflect the difficulty type.
The update comes with tons of smaller changes and fixes, too, notably including changes to make Phasmophobia media rewards feel more valuable. The full patch notes can be found below. The July 10 update was also followed up with a smaller hotfix on July 11, fixing several keybinding issues and problems with chromatic aberration.
A look at Phasmophobia‘s 2025 roadmap shows that there’s still even more to come from the Early Access title this year. With the release of Chronicle, the Player Character Overhaul is dubbed as the next major update for the game, although a rework for Grafton Farmhouse and a new small map are also in the works. Release dates for these planned updates are expected later this year.
