PC gamers that act fast have the chance to add six new games to their digital libraries between Steam and the Epic Games Store. One of the big advantages of PC gaming is that it gives players access to a near-endless supply of free games with no subscriptions necessary. Whereas more “free” games on consoles actually require a subscription, the vast majority of free games on PC are genuinely free.

As long as PC gamers are willing to visit multiple storefronts, they can build an impressive collection of digital games. On Steam, the free game giveaways are more or less random, whereas Epic Games Store users are given new free games every Thursday at 10:00am CT. Currently, there are free games available on both platforms.

The Epic Games Store Free Game For July 17 Has Hours of Content to Explore

Epic Games Store users might have only one game to add to their libraries on July 17, but the title includes so much bonus content that it’s a steal.

Steam users have until July 15 to snag Ultimate Zombie Defense, while Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock, Field of Glory 2: Medieval, and Fantasy General 2 are free on Steam until July 17. Epic Games Store users, meanwhile, have until July 17 to grab their latest free games – Figment 2: Creed Valley and Sky Racket.

At the time of this writing, Steam users have three free games to claim for their digital libraries. Co-op zombie game Ultimate Zombie Defense is available for Steam users to grab until July 15, while Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock and Field of Glory 2: Medieval are free until July 17. All three games have been well-received by Steam users, and should make fine additions to anyone’s digital libraries. Ultimate Zombie Defense features co-op for up to four players, base building mechanics, and eight different playable characters. Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock, Fantasy General 2, and Field of Glory 2: Medieval, meanwhile, are challenging tactics games.

Free Epic Games Store Games Right Now

Over on the Epic Games Store, PC gamers currently have two free games to add to their digital libraries. Figment 2: Creed Valley is an isometric action-adventure game with a noteworthy soundtrack for players to listen to as they conquer its puzzles and bosses. Sky Racket, meanwhile, is a unique arcade game that blends elements of shoot ’em up and brick-breaker games. Fans of retro games especially will likely find a lot to like about Sky Racket, and so they should be sure to claim it while it’s free. Both Sky Racket and Figment 2: Creed Valley will be free on the Epic Games Store until July 17.

Come July 17, Figment 2: Creed Valley and Sky Racket will be replaced by the next Epic Games Store free game, up for grabs from July 17 to July 24. Civilization 6: Platinum Edition will be free on EGS for that week, giving users access to the base game, six DLC packs, and two expansions.
