Fallout 76 Teases Fallout Season 2 Crossover Content

Fallout 76 crossover content based on the second season of the Fallout TV show is in the works, a senior Betheda official has confirmed. However, the developer is still keeping details about the upcoming Fallout 76 content drop close to the chest.

The first season of the Fallout television adaptation debuted on Amazon Prime Video in April 2024. The TV show proved to be massive for Fallout video games, propelling most of them to new popularity heights, based on peak concurrent player data. The live-action show also prompted Bethesda to release crossover content for several entries in the franchise, including Fallout 76.

Rumor: Multiple Fallout Games Are in the Works at Bethesda

According to a video games journalist, Bethesda is reportedly working on multiple Fallout projects, including “that one I’m sure you’re all wanting.”

This trend is going to continue with the New Vegas-set Fallout Season 2, which will be promoted in Fallout 76 through new crossover content. That’s according to Fallout 76 Creative Director Jon Rush, who said as much in a recent statement to Variety. “We’re always focused on the game,” the executive asserted, adding that the TV show production team and the game’s development group are constantly communicating about crossover opportunities and other topics. “Lining things up with the seasonal releases of the show, it’s stuff that we talk about all the time, and we do have plans for things here and there.”

Fallout 76 Will Likely Skip Big TV Show Crossovers for Obvious Reasons

The likelihood of the live-service game introducing major crossover content from the TV show, such as story-driven quests, appears slim. That is primarily because Amazon’s Fallout series is set in 2296, making it the most future-oriented entry in the franchise to date. In contrast, Fallout 76 is set in 2102, placing it at the opposite end of the series’ timeline. With nearly two centuries separating the two narratives, opportunities for direct, lore-consistent crossovers are limited, though some degree of thematic or harmless referential overlap remains possible, Rush explained.

Lining things up with the seasonal releases of the show, it’s stuff that we talk about all the time, and we do have plans for things here and there.

In 2024, Bethesda commemorated the premiere of the TV show’s first season with the Vault 33 Survival Kit for Fallout 76, which contained Lucy’s Vault 33 Backpack, as well as seven types of consumables, including Lunchboxes, Repair Kits, and Perk Card Packs. This is likely the scale of crossover content that players can expect to accompany Season 2 as well. Rush declined to provide specifics on what is currently in development for the hit live-service title.

Fallout Season 2 does not yet have an official release date, although Amazon previously confirmed it’s targeting a December 2025 premiere. As such, the new crossover content is expected to debut late into Fallout 76 Season 22 or—more likely—early into Season 23. Season 22 will be called Appalachian Modern Living, while the one afterward is currently a complete mystery.
