After a slow start to the summer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been ramping up their transfer activity.
Following the early arrivals of Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel, there had been an eerily quietness to any other transfer incomings until earlier this week when things went into overdrive.
Tottenham’s deal to sign Mohammed Kudus further bolstered their attacking options under new head coach Thomas Frank as he looks to build upon last season’s Europa League success under former boss Ange Postecoglou.
The saga of Morgan Gibbs-White’s transfer to Tottenham rumbles on with Nottingham Forest unhappy over the approach and have ceased all communication with Spurs while they consult with their lawyers.
Yves Bissouma is not Fenerbahce bound
While there has been plenty of news on potential incomings to the Tottenham first-team squad, by contrast, outgoings have been very quiet.
Yves Bissouma has been linked with Fenerbahce and Juventus in recent days with the midfielder’s future in North London appearing to be in doubt.
Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on Fenerbahce’s rumoured interest in Bissouma and has claimed there has been no contact from the Turkish giants to date.
Fenerbahce, who are managed by former Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho are instead currently focused on other transfer targets.
Romano took to social networking platform X, to write: “No active talks between Fenerbahçe and Spurs for Yves Bissouma so far, as Fener are focused on different targets.”
Yves Bissouma could struggle if he remains at Tottenham
Bissouma was in remarkable form when Ange Postecoglou joined the club with the Mali international putting in impressive displays against the likes of Manchester United, however, the wheels came off following his red card at Luton.
At 28, frustratingly, his inconsistencies with his performances still continued throughout the 2024/25 campaign, but did save one of his best outings in the Europa League final win over Manchester United in Bilbao.
With Thomas Frank having the option of playing Archie Gray as his number six, a player he wanted to sign while at Brentford, along with the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall able to operate in the holding role. It could mean that Bissouma finds himself down in the pecking order once more if he does decide to remain with the Europa League champions.
