Kinmundy Board of Alderman creates video gaming licenses

The City of Kinmundy will handle their own video gaming licensing beginning January first.

Mayor Angie Diss says since they have not had an ordinance in the past, the two gaming facilities had to go through the state for licensing. As part of the new ordinance, video gaming facilities will have to pay $100 per machine per year. The board was told the gaming company providing the machines will pick up half the cost.

The Kinmundy Board agreed to purchase an enclosed carport to park the city police car. Right now plans are to play the carport next to the police station in the library building. However, the board will continue to look for a better location.

The Public Works Department was authorized to purchase a used four wheeler for a cost not to exceed $7,000. The board was told it would make some of the duties of the department much easier to complete. The board appointed Donald Smith to the Library Board.
