A former Labour councillor has spoken out about his expulsion from the party amid claims he had supported rival candidates and had been threatening towards colleagues.
Jamie Pout now sits as an independent on Dover District Council, having previously been the authority’s deputy leader.

As previously reported, he was expelled in April, alleging MP Mike Tapp had played a major role in his demise.
He was backed by fellow Dover Labour group members Cllr Stacey Blair and Cllr Charlotte Zosseder who quit the party in solidarity.
Cllr Pout, who represents Aylesham, Eythorne and Shepherdswell, also talks about his journey into politics and how he is motivated by highlighting unfairness and inequality.
Joining during Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership, he says he is happy as an independent but does plan a legal challenge over his expulsion.
Also discussed is Nigel Farage’s visit to County Hall and his views on local government reorganisation, trans books in libraries and the £100 million cost of transporting special needs pupils to school.
The weekly podcast brings together Simon Finlay, Robert Boddy, and Dan Esson, of the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
