Mid-range gaming laptops are already one of the best value deals in tech. You get a respectable gaming machine, without the screaming design, or the melting GPUs, or the long wait times. This Prime Day season, there is one mid-range gaming laptop that manages to stand out from the crowd—and it’s discounted over at Best Buy’s Black Friday in July sale.
The HP Victus 15.6 laptop with a Ryzen 7 chip and Nvidia RTX 4050 is down to just $650, from its list $900 list price, and is currently one of the best laptop deals available.
A mid-range gaming laptop with shockingly good value
The laptop features AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS with 6 cores and 12 threads. It’s a solid gaming CPU built on the modern 6nm architecture. The RTX 4050 graphics card, though last gen, is nothing is scoff at either. The 6GB GDDR6 memory supports DLSS 3 technology for faster frame generation. You can play most modern titles in 1080p resolution at high or ultra settings, without worrying about overheating or dropped frames. What more could you want?
The laptop also includes 512GB NVMe SSD for fast boot-ups, and 16GB DDR5 RAM. The display is full-HD, IPS, and has a 144Hz refresh rate suitable for gaming. The display only gets as bright as 300 nits though. It’s not the best display for content creation or photo editing, but it’s well-suited for gaming.
Best Buy’s Prime Day competition sale, “Black Friday in July,” runs through Sunday, July 13 and has some of the best tech sales online. It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.
Home Depot extended its 4th of July sale through at least July 9, competing with some amazing deals of its own. It’s an especially good option if you’re looking for power tools, appliances, or outdoor equipment.
