The coastguard is responding to “multiple incidents” off the Kent coast this morning.
Teams, including Border Force vessels, are currently in the English Channel.
French authorities are also using planes and drones over the sea.
A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: “HM Coastguard has been coordinating a response to multiple incidents involving small boats in the Channel this morning, 10 July.
“UK Border Force vessels have been sent as part of this response.”
