Following a hiatus on Amazon, Nintendo is back on the e-commerce site and surprise-dropped the Nintendo Switch 2 during Prime Day.
The Nintendo Switch 2 System ($450) and Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle ($500) are available to order by requesting an invite to purchase.

Amazon finally has the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, but it’s only available to purchase via invite.
The return of Nintendo direct to Amazon follows allegations from Bloomberg that the video game company pulled product due to a dispute with Amazon over third-party sales. Nintendo quickly refuted those claims, according to IGN.
So far, the console has only been available to purchase at Walmart, Target, Best Buy and GameStop, selling out lightning fast. The Switch 2 has already been restocked at Walmart two times, but those restocks sold out, too.
Now, you can order either console at Amazon by requesting an invite to purchase due to limited quantities. However, the Amazon listings state, “We won’t be able to grant all requests,” so it’s best to request the invite ASAP before they’re gone.
You’ll receive a link via email that informs you that your request is being processed. If you are chosen to purchase the console, you’ll receive a link valid for 22 hours to shop and order the Switch 2.
However, all hope is not lost if you aren’t chosen. According to Amazon, “If you aren’t selected during this round of invites, your request is still eligible to be selected in future rounds so you don’t need to submit another request for the next 3 months.”
In the latest model, you can expect a larger, more vivid, 7.9-inch LCD touch screen that supports HDR, up to 120 fps and 4K resolution in Dock Mode when the Switch 2 is connected to a compatible TV.
You can play in Dock Mode, Tabletop Mode and Handheld Mode as usual, but with new capabilities, like GameChat using the Joy-Con 2’s new mic and the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera, and GameShare to play with your friends online.
Plus, the new Joy-Con 2 are larger for a more comfortable grasp, attach magnetically and offer mouse controls with select games.
But you won’t be able to enjoy the new console and highly-anticipated games, like the new “Mario Kart World,” if it sells out again, so request an invite to purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 or the bundle ASAP.
