Alienware unveils QD-OLED & 320Hz monitors from GBP £209

Alienware has released two new gaming monitors, the Alienware 27 280Hz QD-OLED Monitor and the Alienware 25 320Hz Gaming Monitor, with both models available for purchase in mid-2025.

Display features

The Alienware 27 280Hz QD-OLED Monitor (model AW2725D) offers a QHD resolution and employs QD-OLED technology combined with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. This configuration is intended to deliver vibrant visuals suitable for a range of game genres and is marketed for cost-conscious gamers who want a QD-OLED gaming experience.

This monitor supports a 280Hz refresh rate and boasts a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time. Compatibility with NVIDIA G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and VESA AdaptiveSync is provided to ensure seamless and tear-free gameplay, as described by the company.

The Alienware 27 280Hz QD-OLED Monitor is priced at GBP £509.00. The monitor also features Alienware’s latest design language, referred to as AW30, and comes with a three-year limited hardware warranty that covers OLED burn-in.

Fast-paced competition

The second product, the Alienware 25 320Hz Gaming Monitor (model AW2525HM), is designed for players who prioritise fast-paced, competitive gaming, particularly in genres such as first-person shooters. It features a fast IPS panel with a full HD resolution, a 320Hz refresh rate, and a 0.5ms gray-to-gray response time, with the manufacturer noting, “0.5ms (gray-to-gray min), 1ms (gray-to-gray most observed) in Extreme mode.”

This model is also NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, AMD FreeSync Premium, and VESA AdaptiveSync certified. It is designed for users with restricted desk space, incorporating a compact structure and an integrated headset hanger. The Alienware 25 320Hz Gaming Monitor is available at GBP £209.00.

Design and warranty

Both monitors are built around Alienware’s new AW30 design language, which is said to be inspired by extraterrestrial phenomena and aims to balance mystery, performance, and functionality. The three-year limited warranty for QD-OLED models, which includes OLED burn-in coverage, is standard across qualifying displays.

“These exceptional displays are designed for cost-conscious gamers who are either seeking a high-quality QD-OLED gaming experience, or a competition-ready monitor for the aspiring esports athlete.”

Alienware stated that the aim is to make premium display technology more accessible. The company also highlighted its consideration for varying gaming setups, noting that the Alienware 25 320Hz Gaming Monitor addresses space limitations through both size and design features, such as the integrated headset hanger.

The pricing for both monitors is intended to appeal to gamers seeking high performance without significant financial outlay. The manufacturer believes that the pricing, especially for the QD-OLED monitor, lowers the entry point to this category of displays.

Both monitors are now available for sale from Alienware authorised retailers and direct channels.
