Epic Games Store is about to drop two new free games, and per the latest leak from MeguminShiro, the store will soon offer Sid Meier’s Civilization VI Platinum Edition as a free game. It’s a multi-award winner, and the bundle is worth $79.99.
Backpack Hero and Figment are the currently free games on Epic Games Store, and on July 10 UTC 15:00, the free game selection will be updated. With that, Figment 2 and SkyRacket will drop to $0 on the storefront. After that, as the leak from MeguminShiro reveals, a comprehensive bundle worth $79.99 will be given away.
More precisely, the credible leaker shares that Epic Games Store will give away Sid Meier’s Civilization VI Platinum Edition on July 17, 2025, at UTC 15:00. The base game of this package is a multi-award winner, and the entire bundle comes with two expansions and six DLCs.
Civilization VI is categorized as a 4X strategy title where players can lead a civilization to the Information Age from the Stone Age. The game offers the option to choose a historical leader, and after that, it’s all about building cities, waging wars, and engaging in diplomacy.
On the note of the leaders, each has their own agendas, and they have traits that are inspired by their real-life counterparts. Another interesting aspect of this upcoming free game is that the cities can be physically expanded across multiple tiles. This offers players the option to strategically place key areas for faster progression.
Players also have the option to take advantage of the active research system that the game features. It’s available for both civics and technology, and the system’s progress can unlock new abilities and buildings.
Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 first launched in 2016, and the soon-to-be free game on Epic Games Store has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam. Players get two major expansions with the Platinum Edition: Gathering Storm and Rise and Fall, and there are six DLCs. Check out the video below to learn more about this upcoming freebie.
