Tottenham receive ‘here we go’ on Mohammed Kudus deal as West Ham accept bid four

Tottenham finally break through in pursuit of Mohammed Kudus as West Ham reportedly accept an improved fourth bid for the Ghanaian star.

Tottenham Hotspur have been firmly in the race to sign Mohammed Kudus this summer, as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the 2025/26 season.

We first reported that Tottenham had been offered the opportunity to sign Kudus, and while the 24-year-old Ghana international had an £85 million release clause, the chance to secure the versatile forward at a cut-price was also on the table.

Tottenham decided to test West Ham United’s resolve by submitting an initial offer worth £50 million, with a further £5 million in add-ons, although that bid was swiftly rejected.

Tottenham agree fee with West Ham for Mohammed Kudus transfer

Daniel Levy and company did not stop there, as two further bids were lodged with West Ham United, both of which were turned down.

The most recent offer for Kudus, valued at £50 million plus £12.5 million in add-ons, included clauses that were considered unrealistic, such as Spurs winning both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Despite West Ham’s stance throughout negotiations, reports have suggested that Kudus himself is intent on making the move to Tottenham this summer.

The Hammers winger, who scored seven times and registered three assists in 32 Premier League appearances last season, is keen on a switch to N17, and could become the first player to move directly from West Ham to Spurs since Scott Parker in 2011.

New reports have now revealed that West Ham have accepted a new bid of £55m from Tottenham for Kudus. Fabrizio Romano has even given the deal his ‘here we go’ seal of approval. It is not said whether the £55m fee includes add-ons, although the implication is just a straight fee.

Spurs beat Chelsea to Kudus but fans have been mixed

Tottenham fans have since offered mixed reactions to the possibility of landing Kudus this summer.

Some supporters feel that Kudus would add a dynamic edge to the Lilywhites’ attack, while others remain unconvinced, particularly in light of his modest goal contributions last season.

Chelsea were also in the frame for Kudus, with reports claiming the Blues were tempted to submit a formal bid should Arsenal succeed in signing Noni Madueke.

It has also been reported that West Ham were more open to negotiating with Enzo Maresca’s side, and the Hammers were anticipating an offer for Kudus from Chelsea that could exceed Tottenham’s £50 million proposal.

Fortunately, the Lilywhites have stolen a march on their competition before Chelsea were able to agree any sales of their own this week. Barring a disaster, it looks like Mohammed Kudus will be playing in Tottenham Lilywhite next season.
