Tottenham fans will love what Pedro Porro was seen doing in training this week

Pedro Porro was seen taking a Tottenham youngster under his wing and giving some advice, which is further evidence of the fact that the Spaniard is now increasingly starting to embrace a leadership role at Spurs.

19 Tottenham players reported for pre-season duty over the past few days, with the group almost entirely consisting of those who were not involved in international action following the end of the season.

The majority of the internationals are yet to return to Hotspur Way but there is one exception: Pedro Porro.

Porro has been praised for his dedication by Spurs fans after arriving early to pre-season, despite playing 51 games last season and being in Nations League action for Spain until the 9th of June.

Porro involved in a touching moment with Yang Min-hyeok

Football.London have picked up on a very interesting moment in the recent video of pre-season training released by Tottenham Hotspur where the right-back is seen showing his leadership skills.

The Spain international, who is viewed as ‘a great character and a top professional’ at Hotspur Way, was seen dishing out advice to Yang Min-hyeok, who has returned from a successful loan spell at QPR.

According to the report, the South Korean was asking Porro about something that the defender had done, and in turn, the 25-year-old was heard telling the teenager with an arm about his shoulder about “the most important thing to do”.

Could Pedro Porro become the next Tottenham captain?

Thomas Frank may have to pick a new captain this summer, given the uncertainty over the futures of Heung-min Son and Cristian Romero.

It has been claimed that Son will have a bit-part role under Frank even if he decides to stay at Spurs, while several sources have indicated that Romero could push to join Atletico Madrid this summer.

The new Tottenham boss might thus already be scanning the various characters in the squad to assess who can be his captain, and Porro may have caught his eye in the first week of pre-season.
