The Premier League have confirmed their revised schedule for the first month of the season after various TV selections.
The top flight’s fixtures were announced last month, but they were still subject to change given broadcasting requirements.
The schedule for the opening weekend of the season had already been revealed, but on Wednesday afternoon the Premier League shared which games would be on TV in gameweeks two and three.
Chelsea‘s trip to West Ham is set kick off gameweek two on a Friday night on August 22, despite this usually being classed as a higher risk fixture given it is a London derby.
Mail Sport broke this news last week which came following a request from Sky Sports over the game, but police in the capital believe they can deal with the switch.
That weekend will also see a blockbuster match-up between Manchester City and Tottenham take place at 12:30 on the Saturday, while Leeds‘ trip to Arsenal will be shown later that night.
The Premier League have confirmed their revised schedule for the first month of the season
West Ham’s clash against Chelsea at the London Stadium will be played on Friday, August 22
Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool on the third weekend of the season will be a Sunday 4:30pm kick off
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s encounter against Nottingham Forest will be on Sky Sports on Sunday, August 24.
This game could have an added dimension to it given Forest may take Palace’s place in the Europa League over UEFA’s concerns whether the Eagles breached the competition’s rules on multi-club ownership.
Liverpool’s trip to Newcastle will take place on the Monday night of that gameweek, while the Reds’ early season title clash against Arsenal at Anfield the following weekend on Sunday, August 31 will now be played in the prime 4:30PM slot.
This means that the first three fixtures for Arne Slot’s side will all be on TV, something that is also the case for Newcastle, Leeds, Chelsea, City, Palace, Forest and Arsenal.
On that third weekend, Palace will travel to Villa on the Friday night, while Chelsea’s west London derby against Fulham kicks off proceedings on Saturday, August 30.
Newly promoted Leeds entertain Newcastle on Saturday night so their first two home games back in the top flight at Elland Road will be televised.
Another notable game to be shown that weekend is Man City’s trip to Brighton on Sunday, August 31 at 2PM, which is a fixture they lost last year.
