A police officer was seen “bleeding” after coming out of a house following a lengthy stand-off at the property.
At least nine police vehicles have been in Richmond Street, in Sheerness, throughout the afternoon.

A cordon was set up near the Unique Price convenience store, which has now been lifted, and an ambulance is also in attendance.
Police remain on guard outside the property but the force has confirmed two officers were injured during the incident.
Eye-witness Lauren, who did not give her second name, says she first heard “a load of police sirens” at around 1.45pm, she told KentOnline.
The 29-year-old, who lives in the road, said: “I was on the phone to my mate when I heard a load of police sirens.
“I looked outside and saw them here. I was watching until I had to do the school run and then came back.”
Another resident, Sam, 40, who also withheld her second name, said: “I was outside the fish and chips shop when I saw a police officer bleeding on the floor.

“More arrived and set up a cordon. I’ve been watching since then.”
James Street resident Tina Ball heard a “woman screaming” at 1.25pm while she was doing her housework.
The 29-year-old looked outside and says she saw a “scuffle” between a man and a woman.
She added that within five minutes, more officers had arrived and within 25 minutes, a cordon was established.

She said: “Officers have mainly been waiting around.”
A Kent Police spokesperson has confirmed officers were called at around 1pm to a report of a disturbance at a property in James Street where a man was making threats.
The force said: “Following attendance by police it is reported that two officers were assaulted. They attended a local hospital for treatment.
“A man has been detained while officers remain at the scene to carry out inquiries.”
The nature of the officers’ injuries and how they were acquired has not been revealed by the police.
The cordon had been removed by 7pm.
