If you’re looking to upgrade your gaming monitor, there’s nothing better these days than a montior that’s equipped with an OLED panel. They offer stunning HDR image quality with inky blanks and zero ghosting that can’t be replicated on any other type of monitor. These OLED monitors normally command a hefty price premium so it’s best to wait for a deal to come along. For Prime Day, Amazon has marked down several of the most popuar models from the biggest brands: Samsung, LG, and Alienware. Like any other monitor, OLED monitors come in all sizes, resolutions, and refresh rates, but there’s something here for just about every type of gamer.

34″ Alienware AW3423DWF QD OLED Gaming Monitor

If you don’t require super high framerates, then this Aienware deal will offer the best bang for your buck. The AW3423DWF is a 34″ monitor with a 3440×1440 (110ppi) resolution, 1800R curve, and a still-respectable 165Hz refresh rate. It uses a Samsung quantum dot OLED panel for higher brightness levels and better color gamut. Aside from being the only monitor in this roundup for under $600, Alienware OLED monitors include a 3 year warranty that covers burn-in.

49″ Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 Gaming Monitor

The G95SC was released back in July 2023 and was subsequently replaced by the G95SD. For an extra $400, the G95SD will get you a matte screen coating, built-in speakers, and a built-in microphone for voice control. However, the image quality – what really matters – is largely identical. This is a super ultra-wide 5120×1440 monitor with a 109ppi, 1800R curve, and a 240Hz refresh rate. Since this is pretty close to Samsung’s highest end monitor, it uses a quantum dot OLED panel, which is brighter and has a wider color range than traditional OLED monitors.

Special Mention: 57″ Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Dual 4K Monitor

No it’s not OLED, but it’s still one of the best monitors around

Buydig (via its eBay seller account) is offering the massive 57″ Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Dual 4K UHD gaming monitor for just $1,279.99 with free shipping. This is far and away the best deal I’ve seen for this massive monitor outside of enrolling in an edu or epp program from Samsung directly. The 57″ Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is the first and possibly only 57″ dual 4K UHD monitor on the market, boasting an eye-watering 7680×2160 resolution, or the equivalent of two 4K UHD monitors stacked next to each other. Despite the display being so large, you’re treated to a pixel density of 140ppi. To put that into perspective, it’s as sharp as a 32″ 4K monitor.

The Odyssey Neo G9 is equipped with a quantum dot mini LED panel. Like its namesake suggests, mini-LED panels have smaller LEDs than traditional LED LCD monitors, so you can squeeze in more lighting zones. Mini-LED monitors are also much brighter than OLED monitors, which is important because larger monitors are usually dimmer.

32″ Alienware AW3225QF 4K QD OLED Gaming Monitor

The AW3225QF is Alienware’s flagship monitor. It is one of the few out there that marries an OLED panel with a native 4K resolution display. It also boasts a respectable 240Hz refresh rate, is G-Sync certified, and uses Samsung’s premium quantum dot OLED technology. Like Dell’s other OLED monitors, it includes a three-year warranty with burn-in protection. Something to keep in mind is that 4K monitors require a pretty powerful GPU. 4K resolution has 2.25 times more pixels than QHD; if you want to play games in 4K, especially at frame rates of up to 240fps, you’ll want a gaming PC equipped with an GeForce RTX 4070 at the minimum.

27″ LG UltraGear GX780A 480Hz OLED Gaming Monitor

The GX780A is part of the next generation of OLED monitors with higher refresh rates than ever before. This monitor was released at the tail end of 2024 and is LG’s first ever OLED monitor with an incredible 480Hz refresh rate. This is a 27″ monitor with a 2560×1440 resolution (which averages out to 109ppi pixel density), no curve, and G-Sync compatibility. It uses LG’s latest generation W-OLED panel. Because the GX790 boasts a super high refresh rate, it excels at games that require fast and twitch input, most notably first person shooters like Counter-Strike.
