The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed, but there have been unconfirmed reports of an alleged altercation involving security guards and members of the public at the open air venue.

On Saturday (July 5), Rochester Castle Live posted on its Facebook page: “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for last night’s incredible performance by the symphonic Ibiza orchestra, it was truly an unforgettable evening.

“We are aware of an incident that occurred during last night’s event, and we are currently conducting enquiries in order to establish the full circumstances.

“Thank you for your continued support.”

Medway Council has since confirmed to KentOnline they are supporting hosts The Festival Crowd with their investigation into the incident at the concert.

Private security guards were used at the event which featured an orchestra playing iconic Ibiza anthems.

The Security Industry Authority (SIA), the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry, said protecting the public is its “priority” and licensed security operatives play a “vital role in keeping people safe”.

A spokesperson told KentOnline: “All SIA licensed security operatives are trained in conflict management.

“Should a licence-holder do anything that means they fail to comply with our licensing conditions or they do not live up to the standards of behaviour we require we will investigate the matter.

“We review the evidence of all reported incidents against our licensing criteria and consider if any appropriate action is required.”

No issues were reported at the other weekend’s events which saw The Courteeners and Craig David take to the stage at the historic fortress on the banks of the Medway.

The Castle Concerts series have been criticised by music fans in recent years but are now under new management.

The Festival Crowd have been approached for comment.
