Add more storage on the cheap.

Storage in its varying forms – internal, external, HDDs, SSDs, memory cards and so on – can be quite expensive at the best of times. If you’ve been wanting to add more gaming space to your PC, Steam Deck or Switch 2, then check out our early selections for Prime Day 2025 below.
We’ll add more storage deals as we find them, from internal SSDs and HDDs to external drives and memory cards, so it will be worth checking back in here as Amazon’s big sales event rolls in on July 8th and continues until July 11th.
Without further ado, here are some cracking storage reductions for you.
The Crucial X9 2TB is a no-brainer recommendation for me, as I use on every single day as an external SSD for storing benchmark software and games on for testing PCs and laptops, and also for storing any video I need to have access to for editing. It’s tiny and easy to put into a bag while a metal chassis keeps it durable, as well as immensely fast with rated reads and writes of 1050MB/s that I’ve found it to live up to. A USB-C 3.2 connection enables such fast speeds with compatible devices, and it works a treat with everything from my MacBook Pro to my Windows gaming PC. £107 for 2TB of fast, external storage is just brilliant.
This Crucial P310 returns to a more ‘standard’ internal form factor drive that’s a great value option for PC and PS5 especially, allowing you to add 2TB of storage to boost both all PS5 variants by a good capacity alongside having speeds of up to 7100MB/s reads and 6000MB/s writes that smash Sony’s internal requirements. You also get a useful heatsink pre-installed which means you’re fully PS5-proof out of the box. £112 for a drive that’s as quick and ready to go as this one is marvellous.
The Samsung 980 Pro is also another drive we’ve often recommended due to its immensely fast speeds that make it one of the best gaming SSDs we’ve tested in recent times. It’s got reads and writes of up to 7450MB/s and 6900MB/s, which make it a suitably snappy choice for use in top-class gaming PCs and PS5 too, while its random IOPS figures of up to 1M should also make load times for games especially snappy, too. 2TB of capacity is also handy for storing larger game libraries as well as for storing lots of stuff on if you need to. For PS5 use, you just need a heatsink. Nonetheless, to get this drive for £140 isn’t half bad at the moment.
And finally for the moment, here’s a handy reduction on a capacious Micro SD card you can use in everything from a Switch (not Switch 2) and Steam Deck to an action camera or hi-res music player. This 512GB Samsung Evo Select offers good speeds up to 160MB/s to ensure decent load times and solid transfer rates for when you need to move things around, while also comes with a great capacity for media and games libraries and a full-size SD card adapter so you can use it in as many devices as possible without any performance penalty.
Hopefully these storage deals have given you some food for thought as to your next move this Prime Day. Remember to check back in with us to keep updated with the latest and greatest deals across all sorts of components and categories with our other lists, too.
