ea games shutting down 2025

There are at least two more EA games shutting down in 2025 that fans should be aware of. EA shuts down games on a regular basis, with numerous titles having already shuttered in 2025 alone. In fact, the year started out with a bloodbath of EA game shutdowns in January, as nine games ceased operations.

EA started off the year by shutting down Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, seven mobile games, and The Simpsons: Tapped Out. The Simpsons: Tapped Out shutting down was especially depressing, as the game built a dedicated fanbase over the years that was playing daily. The EA shutdowns continued in February with UFC 3, and in March with EA Sports UFC Mobile 2 and NCAA 14.

EA Game Shutting Down on October 20

Unfortunately, EA confirms that it is shutting down the online servers for yet another one of its games this year.

The most recent game shut down by EA was Madden NFL 21. Madden NFL 21 servers shut down on June 30, making it impossible for those that own the game to unlock all of its achievements/trophies or enjoy all of its game modes. Unfortunately, at least two more EA games are being shut down before the year is out. Madden NFL 22 is shutting down on October 20, while FIFA 23 is shutting down on December 12. From those points forward, gamers will not be able to enjoy those titles to their fullest and will be unable to access certain game modes. Offline modes will still be available, but that’s it.

List of EA Games Shutting Down in 2025

  • Rory McIlroy PGA Tour – January 16
  • The Simpsons: Tapped Out – January 24
  • Blood & Glory Immortals – January 29
  • Contract Killer: Sniper – January 29
  • Deer Hunter Classic – January 29
  • Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores – January 29
  • Eternity Warriors 4 – January 29
  • Frontline Commando 2 – January 29
  • Frontline Commando: D-Day – January 29
  • UFC 3 – February 17
  • EA Sports UFC Mobile 2 – March 13
  • NCAA 14 – March 13
  • Madden NFL 21 – June 30
  • Madden NFL 22 – October 20
  • FIFA 23 – December 12

FIFA 23 shutting down may be especially depressing for fans because it’s the last game from EA to bear the FIFA license. EA’s soccer game series has since rebranded to EA Sports FC. While EA Sports FC is effectively the same as FIFA from a gameplay standpoint, there are still some nostalgic for the original name and will be sad that FIFA 23 servers are shutting down forever on December 12.

EA updates its list of games shutting down on a regular basis, so it’s possible more titles will be shut down before 2025 is over. In the meantime, we know of at least one EA game shutting down in 2026. Anthem is shutting down on January 12, and since it’s an online-only game, it will effectively cease to exist. Needless to say, anyone interested in trying Anthem before then will want to make sure they do so sooner rather than later.
