These games are likely to leave the PS Plus Extra catalog in August, and there are some big names among them

While PS Plus subscribers can enjoy various offers on a regular basis, some news is not welcome. This is the case for August 2025 with the potential release of numerous games, including big names, from the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog.

For some time now, subscribers to this service have been able to enjoy various benefits. This month, they were able to get three free games: Jusant, The King of Fighters XV, and Diablo IV. But while there are additions to the catalog, other titles are being removed. And for August 2025, some big names could be among them, which may disappoint some players. 

However, it should be noted that this list has been estimated by Gameblog and is based on the cycles linked to Sony’s contracts with various publishers, which range from six months to one year or up to two years. As a result, according to this hypothesis, certain titles will no longer be available from August 19, 2025, such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. 

In this game, you play as Geralt of Rivia and dive into a mysterious universe to face the Wild Hunt, which is wreaking havoc in the Kingdom. You’ll complete various quests, solve mysteries, and battle mystical and terrifying creatures.

Another big name in the industry is likely to leave the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog, and that is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. If you are a fan of the Star Wars universe and know how to wield your lightsaber like a pro, don’t hesitate to play it before it’s too late. 

It should be noted that the Sword Art Online saga also appears to be affected by this departure. The same goes for a big title from the indie scene, none other than Cult of The Lamb. Other games are also mentioned if we continue to follow this hypothesis, and here is the list:
