A new report has contradicted what we have heard about Thomas Frank’s stance on Richarlison over recent weeks and has also shed light on whether the Tottenham striker wants to stay or leave the Europa League champions this summer.
Tottenham have had a quiet start to the transfer window, both in terms of incomings and outgoings. That might be down to the fact that Thomas Frank wants to meet the Spurs players before deciding on their futures.
However, it has been claimed by several outlets over recent weeks that Frank has given the green light for Richarlison to be sold.
It even emerged a couple of days ago that Galatasaray are ready to make an offer for Richarlison, who Spurs are happy to sell for just £20m.
Thomas Frank wants to assess Richarlison in Tottenham pre-season
However, Sky Sports have now claimed on their live transfer blog that the new Spurs boss is ready to give the Brazilian a chance to impress in pre-season.
The 28-year-old is one of many players that Frank wants to assess over the coming weeks before deciding on their futures, with the Dane aware that he needs a big squad to cope with the rigours of Champions League football.
Interestingly, the outlet says that the former Everton man’s preference would be to remain at Tottenham rather than head through the exit door.
He believes that he has not been able to showcase his best in a Spurs shirt due to his injury troubles and has the desire to put that right.
Galatasaray do not want to sign Richarlison permanently
Sky Sports back up the claim that Galatasaray want to land the Tottenham man, and suggest that they could make an approach for him if the Lilywhites decide he is not part of their plans.
However, the outlet asserts that the Turkish club are more interested in a loan move, and they are far from the only side who have expressed an interest in Richarlison, who is on the radar of several clubs.
The report adds that the Spurs striker’s priority is to ensure he is Brazil’s first-choice number nine at next year’s World Cup and he is thus keen on getting regular football next season.
