A former Argos store left empty for almost three years has finally been taken over.
The branch on Marshwood Close Retail Park off Sturry Road, Canterbury, shut down in September 2022.

It was timed to coincide with the launch of the Argos unit at Sainsbury’s in Kingsmead Road, but the closure has left a huge gap at the site since.
However, three years on and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) has now made the 745 sq m unit its new home following its opening on Thursday (July 3).
BHF’s retail area manager, Donna Evans, says its home and fashion store is offering shoppers sofas, beds, electronics, as well as clothing.
She said: “We’re thrilled to open our doors here in Canterbury and want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the local community.
“The incredible support, whether through generous stock donations or simply popping in to the shop, has made this week’s launch truly special.

“As the UK’s largest charity retailer, BHF is proud to lead the reuse revolution by giving quality items a second life and preventing them from going to waste.
“This store is a unique blend of home and fashion, and with new items arriving daily, there’s always something fresh to discover.”
The shop is also offering a free collection service for pre-loved items people wish to donate.
Ms Evans says she is also looking for more volunteers to help run the shop.
Before its closure was confirmed three years ago, the Marshwood Close Argos had been the company’s last-surviving standalone store in the county.
