Journalist Ben Jacobs has shed light on how serious Tottenham’s interest in Eberechi Eze was and has also provided an update on the North London club’s pursuit of Mohammed Kudus.
At the start of last week, multiple outlets reported that Tottenham were ready to advance on Eze, who had given the green light to join Spurs.
However, since then, the Lilywhites have abandoned their pursuit of Eze and are now prioritising a move for another Premier League attacker instead.
According to reports over the last 24 hours, Spurs are now holding talks over a deal for Mohammed Kudus, who is open to moving to N17.
Tottenham still have competition in Mohammed Kudus pursuit
Journalist Ben Jacobs has now taken to social media to confirm that the Ghana international has now emerged as the Lilywhites’ top transfer priority this summer.
He makes it clear that Tottenham Hotspur never made a serious effort to land Eze despite being fans of the Palace star.
The journalist backs up what other sources have claimed over the last two days by stating that West Ham are willing to sell Kudus for around £60m.
However, Jacobs adds that the former Ajax man has also been offered to Chelsea and Manchester United by the Hammers.
He wrote: ‘Spurs view Mohammed Kudus as a top priority. They believe West Ham will sell for around £60m despite Kudus’ £85m Premier specific clause. Spurs never advanced anything on Eberechi Eze despite appreciation. Kudus also offered to Chelsea and Manchester United by West Ham.’

Are Spurs in danger of having their Kudus move hijacked?
It is an open secret that the Tottenham and West Ham hierarchies do not see eye to eye, which is why the two clubs have not done any deals since 2011. In fact, only five players have moved from West Ham to Spurs for the last 23 years.
It has been widely reported the Hammers are only open to selling Kudus to Tottenham due to their desperation to raise funds.
If another club came in for the winger, the East London club would presumably be quite happy to do a deal, perhaps even for a slightly lower fee than they would accept from Tottenham, as it would help them avoid the potential fan backlash.
Spurs fans thus should not get too excited about this deal until Kudus signs on the dotted line and is pictured holding up a Tottenham shirt.
