Tottenham supporters have been left furious after a fresh twist in the Eberechi Eze saga revealed the club were never truly in for the Crystal Palace star.
Every transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur are constantly linked with Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, and this summer window was no different.
It was claimed that Thomas Frank had greenlit a move for Eze and that Eze himself was keen on joining Tottenham with Champions League football on offer.
However, those reports have since been debunked, with several news outlets now claiming that Arsenal is now considering a move for Eze, as they have him on their list of targets this transfer window.
Tottenham fans react to the latest Eberechi Eze update
In fact, David Ornstein has even gone as far as to state that Eberechi Eze was not a player Tottenham Hotspur have been working to bring in this summer.
This latest development has left Tottenham fans distraught, as they look set to miss out on a player that many seem to admire, with many supporters taking to social media to vent their frustration on Levy and co.
One fan said: “Losing Mbeumo to a team we bodied FOUR times in a singular season. Losing Eze to (potentially) them lot down the road. The board truly piss me off. Moving like a club that has not just won European silverware.”
Another added: “Honestly, I give up. He should have been brought in last summer, but to not even try this summer and watch him go to that other lot is unforgivable. The gap between us to them is getting wider. Shambles.”
One more commented: “Why would he, means he would have to spend on a top quality player, like usual, we do not back a good manager. Until ENIC are gone, we will be like this. We never change.”
Another fan chimed in: “Because he is not between the ages of 14 and 18, not the profile.”
A supporter stated: “Imagine being excited over us signing Eze. Tough summer ahead for anyone who believes we will sign players like that.”
Why Spurs fans wanted Eze so desperately this summer
Eze did impress last season in the Premier League, scoring eight goals and assisting eight in 34 appearances.
The Englishman was also crucial in Palace’s FA Cup run, where he helped the Eagles clinch their first-ever trophy win, scoring a goal in the final against Manchester City. The 27-year-old ended the 2024/25 season with 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
Of course, given his influence on the pitch – his ability to score and assist – it is clear why many Tottenham fans have been left frustrated about the latest reports.
Regardless, the Lilywhite faithful have been quick to urge Tottenham to get a deal done for another Premier League attacker they think would improve their attack next season.
