While there’s no concrete date yet for the summer Kickstarter campaign for last month’s announcement of POSTAL 2 Redux, there’s a small update for the upcoming title. Impact Inked, Team Beef, and POSTAL 2‘s original developer Running With Scissors have launched the official Steam and PlayStation Store pages for POSTAL 2 Redux, allowing fans to wishlist the game.
Just in case you missed it, the remake was “born the moment developer Team Beef’s mad doctors cracked the original POSTAL 2 open for VR,” and decided to take things to the next level. Rather than do a quick and dirty port, publisher Flat2VR Studios has teamed up with Running With Scissors to authorize a full-on rebuild of the game.
The goal for the developers is to deliver the ultimate, no‑excuses POSTAL 2 sandbox—rebuilt with no limits. POSTAL 2 Redux will pack in enhanced visuals, new weapons, nastier physics, and plenty of Easter eggs.
If you’ve never heard of POSTAL 2, the game was first released way back in 2003 for the PC. Set in the fictional Arizona town of Paradise, the player assumes the role of “The Postal Dude”, who must carry out their mundane tasks throughout an in-game week, with the player deciding how violently or passively The Dude will react to various situations.
You can choose to be a law-abiding citizen, or let loose with an arsenal of insane weapons, from gasoline and matches to the infamous cat silencer, lob grenades, or even resort to “the call of nature” with the game’s physics-driven melee combat. Every choice you make fuels the town’s dynamic AI, leading to unpredictable encounters, spontaneous riots, and absolute bedlam.
“POSTAL 2 Redux is equal parts love letter and update to a certified gaming classic,” said Eric Masher, COO, Impact Inked. “We’re thrilled to play a part in bringing such an iconic and infamous game to modern audiences!”
POSTAL 2 Redux aims to raise hell on Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch in 2026.
