A dog on the road is causing long delays on a motorway this morning.
A 40-minute closure was in place on the M20 in both directions between Junction 3 of the M26 (Addington Interchange) and Junction 4 of the A228 (Leybourne Interchange) while traffic officers caught the animal.

Several lanes were shut, which reopened at about 6.30am.
Traffic officers held the dog in a lay-by before leaving the scene.
A double-trailer carrying hay has also reportedly broken down in the road London-bound, near Junction 4, causing another lane closure which is still active.
There is congestion to Detling Hill and Maidstone.
There is heavy traffic on the A2 London-bound between Strood and the Bean Interchange, due to drivers avoiding the M20.

There is also queueing traffic in both directions on the A228 Rochester Road in Halling.
