West Ham United and another Premier League side are now pushing to sign a Ligue 1 centre-forward, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the last two months.
With Richarlison expected to depart Tottenham this summer, the North London club are expected to be in the market for a centre-forward to offer competition to Dominic Solanke.
It was reported last month that Tottenham are plotting a move for Nice striker Evann Guessand, who found the back of the net 13 times and provided 10 assists across all competitions last season.
A couple of weeks ago, GiveMeSport revealed that Jose Mourinho’s Galatasaray had made an offer for Guessand, but the outlet explained that the striker was not too keen on a move to Turkey and was waiting for offers to arrive from the Premier League.
West Ham and Wolves are battling it out for Evann Guessand
A new report in The Daily Mail has now claimed that Wolves are preparing an offer for the Nice star, but they have now been joined in the race for the 23-year-old by West Ham.
It is explained that the Hammers explored a move for Guessand in January and have now decided to go back in for the centre-forward
The Ivory Coast international is thought to be near the top of Graham Potter’s wishlist as the West Ham boss remains keen on adding firepower to his forward line. Nice are thought to be ready to sell Guessand for a fee of around £20m-£25m.
The report makes no mention of Tottenham Hotspur, but West Ham’s pursuit of Evann Guessand may have one major consequence for Spurs’ transfer ambitions.
Tottenham’s chances of landing Mohammed Kudus may be boosted
The Mail claim that in order to land Guessand, West Ham first need to push through some sales, and the East London side could decide to ‘hasten’ the exit of Mohammed Kudus.
According to reports over recent days, Tottenham are thinking about launching an offer for Kudus after holding internal discussions about the Ghana international.
However, the Lilywhites face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea for Kudus, who is thought to be valued at over £60m by Potter’s men.
