For many gamers, the 27-inch AW2725DF OLED display may be the perfect combination of image quality and responsiveness. The Alienware monitor can reach a 360Hz refresh rate with ultra-low latency. Its current $619.99 sale price at the Dell store is $280 lower than the typical $899.99 MSRP.

With deep blacks, an OLED gaming monitor is ideal for single-player horror titles like Resident Evil. However, thanks to fast response times, the displays appeal to competitive gamers. That’s especially true with the Alienware AW2725DF, which outputs a maximum 360Hz refresh rate at a QHD resolution. The 27-inch monitor also utilizes a QD-OLED panel for vivid and accurate colors. Discounted to $619.99 on the Dell store, the AW2725DF beats the previous Amazon low price of $649.99.

Alienware desktops and laptops exude futuristic styling, but this 27-inch monitor looks more conventional from the front. On its rear side, the display appears a bit more flashy, featuring an RGB-illuminated logo and numbering. Although the AW2725DF isn’t made specifically for office workers, its ergonomic stand is adjustable enough for most setups.

While 4K OLED gaming monitor options have become more affordable, the Alienware alternative is a perfect match for first-person shooters. At 2560×1440, it requires a GPU with less horsepower to reach 360Hz than when gaming at 4K. The monitor relies on a pair of DisplayPort 1.4 connections that support the blistering-fast refresh rate. Unfortunately, the single HDMI 2.1 port isn’t full-bandwidth, so even an Nvidia RTX 50-series card couldn’t achieve 360Hz on the input.

The Alienware AW2725DF is a gaming-focused OLED monitor

The feature set of the AW2725DF caters to both aspiring and professional esports gamers. FreeSync Premium Pro and VRR ensure that screen tearing doesn’t disrupt the most chaotic action. Its OSD is full of options, such as Night Vision, that make approaching enemies in darker maps more visible. Crosshair serves gamers in training who are striving to improve their accuracy.

For productivity purposes, the Alienware monitor is slightly less impressive. Reviews have observed that text clarity doesn’t match the sharpness of IPS panels. The lack of a KVM switch is also a drawback for complicated office configurations. The AW2725DF doesn’t get as bright as IPS or Mini LED displays, but this is a common complaint with many QD-OLED models.

A 32-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor may be more desirable if a buyer has the desk space. Still, for gamers looking to experience cutting-edge refresh rates, the Alienware AW2725DF offers tremendous value at $619.99.
