Summertime often means vacations, kids out of school, and a more laid-back feeling with a heavier focus on relaxation, which creates an ideal time for kicking back with a video game. As July weather heats up, so do the new game releases, with everything from Donkey Kong Bananza to EA Sports College Football 26 filling the calendar. Nearly every day features a new title hitting the market, with a vast array of genres represented to give everyone, even the younger audience, something to look forward to.
The summer months can be a great time for video game enthusiasts with events like Summer Game Fest and great deals from the Steam Summer Sale and other sales events happening in addition to the list of new releases. Many of the big-name games that we’ve been anticipating for quite a while will finally make their debuts this July. The anticipation is perhaps especially strong for the Lord of the Rings cozy game, Tales of the Shire, which has seen several delays and sounds like it is finally going to be launching soon.
A full listing of July releases is near the bottom of this article.
Exciting Games Are Coming To Nintendo Following The Launch Of Switch 2
Donkey Kong, Mario Party, Harvest Moon, And More
Of course, June’s launch of Nintendo’s newest console, the Nintendo Switch 2, means that many eyes are on Nintendo. Several people have been a bit disappointed so far with the lack of big launch titles for the system in June, but July will see a few more entries that have been getting a lot of attention. Also, numerous games are being updated to work well on the Nintendo Switch 2 while players wait for novel entries.
Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley & Skytree Village will bring remastered versions of two beloved Harvest Moon games from years past to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in one cozy bundle. Also, Super Mario Party Jamboree is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, including the all-new Jamboree TV game mode. Jamboree TV sounds as though it could add even more chaos, with players being cast as contestants in a game show hosted by Toad.

Hear Me Out: Donkey Kong Bananza Is The Switch 2’s BOTW
Donkey Kong Bananza may not be as popular or have the same legacy, but it is shaping up to be the Nintendo Switch 2’s version of Breath of the Wild.
The biggest addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 lineup is, of course, the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza, which Nintendo has been heavily marketing recently as the big game for the system right now. After seeing the impressive Donkey Kong Bananza direct, which Nintendo recently hosted specifically for DK, it certainly makes sense. This game has even gotten many who aren’t fans of DK to take note, with excitingly destructive game mechanics and beautiful design. Donkey Kong Bananza will be making its way to players’ hands when it launches on July 17.
Big Name Launches Perfect For Summer Vacation
Tony Hawk, Dungeons & Dragons, EA Sports, And Lord Of The Rings
Naturally, Nintendo isn’t the only gaming system out there, but no matter what platform is preferred, there are many big names coming out in July. Skateboarding remasters of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and PC on July 11, or three days earlier for those who pre-order the Deluxe version of the game.
Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition brings back the nostalgia of decades ago, with a newly remastered game taking players to the land of Faerûn on July 15. The classic DnD game will offer refined camera controls and game mechanics, full controller support, and greatly enhanced graphics. Meanwhile, sports fans can look forward to the latest annual release for EA Sports College Football 26 on July 10.
