Parents are being warned a key attraction at a fully-booked lido will be out of action this weekend as temperatures soar.
The new splash pad at The Strand, Gillingham, opened last month after replacing the paddling pool in a £250,000 makeover.

However, technical issues have forced Medway Council to shut the activity down for the weekend.
It has also advised customers the lido is fully booked too.
A Medway Sport spokesperson said: “The splash pad at The Strand has been experiencing some technical issues and engineers are seeking a solution to fix them, to ensure we can offer visitors the best experience.
“Unfortunately, as a result the splash pad won’t be open this weekend to support these investigation works. We will keep you updated as and when we know more and apologise and for any inconvenience.
“We appreciate this causes disappointment to visitors, but please be aware this issue does not affect the Lido pool or other attractions at The Strand.”

Designed for children aged between three and 11, the new water feature includes 30 sensor-activated waterjets in a beach-themed play area.
It comes as the county prepares itself for a second heatwave this month, with government officials issuing an amber heat health warning.
Temperatures are expected to climb to the mid-30s within the next few days.
The Strand opened in 1896 and is the only remaining riverside tidal saltwater pool in the country.
