Bandai Namco Announcing New My Hero Academia Game

My Hero Academia fans are set to receive some big news in early July, with Bandai Namco teasing a new game based on the series being revealed. The popular manga and anime centered around superhero academy U.A. High School has been a fan-favorite since its first season debuted in 2016, receiving multiple seasons and spinoffs. My Hero Academia‘s eighth season is scheduled to air later this year, while spinoff My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will air its 13th episode this week. Now, fans of the franchise are set to receive even more exciting news.

The massive success of My Hero Academia‘s manga and anime adaptation has led to plenty of video games based on the franchise. Bandai Namco released the My Hero One’s Justice games as a series of 3D fighting games, with the first releasing in 2018 and a sequel launching in 2020. 2023 also saw the debut of My Hero Ultra Rumble as a battle royale centered around the series, with players able to duke it out as one of 28 different characters from the franchise. Now, My Hero Academia fans are set to receive another video game in the near future.

In a teaser for Bandai Namco’s Summer Showcase, the developer officially dropped a major hint about My Hero Academia‘s video game future. The developer confirmed that the event will feature a “new My Hero Academia game” as one of the highlights of the presentation, though few details were revealed about the game. The sizzle reel did include a brief teaser, depicting Deku appearing to harness the power of his Quirk, “One for All.” A release window for the My Hero Academia game is currently unknown.

The My Hero Academia announcement would likely look to corroborate leaks about the franchise earlier this year. A trademark filed by Bandai Namco claimed the name “All’s Justice,” though it did not feature the My Hero Academia title attached to it. The name would likely connect it as part of the previously-mentioned One’s Justice series, suggesting another 3D My Hero Academia fighting game may be on the way from Bandai Namco soon. A follow-up to My Hero One’s Justice would be the first game in the series since My Hero One’s Justice 2 debuted in 2020.

With a new video game on the way, My Hero Academia fans should have lots to look forward to throughout the rest of the year. The eighth season of My Hero Academia, scheduled to debut in October 2025, has been confirmed to be the anime’s final season, finally concluding the story of Deku, Bakugo, and Class 1-A. Netflix was also reportedly working on a live-action adaptation of My Hero Academia, though news has been light since Netflix acquired the rights in 2022. My Hero Academia looks to conclude its beloved anime with a bang alongside its newest game.
