Darren Ambrose is tired of seeing Tottenham playing the waiting game and has urged Daniel Levy to act quickly, amidst reports that Arsenal are now looking to hijack the Lilywhites’ pursuit of Eberechi Eze.
It has been widely reported that Eze wants to come to Tottenham Hotspur and be part of Thomas Frank’s project in N17.
However, Tottenham have work to do to secure the England international’s services, with reports over recent days indicating that Arsenal want to hijack Spurs’ deal for Eze.
There have also been suggestions over the last 48 hours that Man City could get involved in the race for Eze, thus complicating Tottenham’s pursuit even further.
Daniel Levy urged to strike fast in Eberechi Eze to Tottenham deal
A deal for the 25-year-old will not be easy to do, with reports indicating that Crystal Palace want £45m of Eze’s £68m release clause to be paid upfront.
Former Eagles midfielder Darren Ambrose, who supports Spurs, has demanded that Levy pay up the fee for the 26-year-old to give Frank a chance to compete at the top end of the table next season.
The pundit told talkSPORT about the Eze deal: “He (Levy) has to pay the money. We have spoken about this, you would’ve spoken about this many times, if we want to start competing with these top teams, we’ve got to pay top wages, not just top transfer (fees).”
Spurs fans are waiting for Levy to walk the talk
The Tottenham chairman has made an ambitious statement, with Levy stating that Spurs want to win the Premier League and the Champions League.
However, he has yet to put his money where his mouth is, with Mathys Tel being the only player Tottenham Hotspur have signed so far this transfer window.
With pre-season fast approaching, Spurs fans are becoming impatient, with the club now crying out for a statement signing at the start of the new era under Thomas Frank.
