An angry pensioner has accused council bosses of taking “way too long” to repair a damaged light on a zebra crossing.
The beacon in Tram Road, Folkestone, has gone unfixed since March when it was damaged in a crash.

Kent County Council (KCC), which is responsible for maintaining the county’s roads, says the light is now due to be replaced on Wednesday (July 2).
But Barbara Plumley, who lives in nearby Dudley Road, believes the issue should have been dealt with sooner as it has “seriously reduced” visibility.
“The lights on this crossing should be blinking all the time,” she said.
“Vehicles come down this road at 80mph sometimes and they could end up hitting a child.
“It surely can’t be that difficult to get a new pole with a light on it.”

Mrs Plumley, who has lived in Folkestone since 2002, says she has contacted KCC five times since the incident but claims her concerns have not been taken seriously.
“They always turn around and say it’s not an important issue,” she said.
“It’s been going on for way too long, but they don’t care.”
The broken beacon sits just half a mile from St Mary’s Church of England Primary Academy and is frequently used by families.
Mrs Plumley, 85, has noticed parents on the school run now choose to take a different route to drop off their children.

“I don’t think a lot of families walk on this road anymore,” she added.
“They have to go the long way around, especially when it was darker in the mornings.”
In a statement, a KCC spokesman confirmed the beacon was damaged in a crash on March 25.
“An order was raised at the time to replace the beacon which is scheduled for July 2,” they added.
