Good morning once again folks, the start of a new week.

Frank could be a downer, Solanke an upper, Johnson a downer and Son an upper.

That’s the thinking process at the moment, assuming Son stays.

⚡ Son Heung‑min under Thomas Frank: Prediction & Analysis

1. 🔢 2024‑25 Snapshot

  • 7 Premier League goals & 9 assists in 30 PL appearances (2,118 min) — 16 goal involvements, 0.68 G/A per 90

  • 7.14 xG, 0.28 non‑penalty xG/90, 39 shots (26 on target) → 66.7% accuracy; goal per 5.6 shots

  • 9 assists, 0.37 xA/90, top 2% for key passes (2.17/90)

  • Despite scoring involvement, Son finished slightly below his expected goals, indicating a dip in finishing compared to previous campaigns

2. 🧩 Fit under Thomas Frank

Frank’s approach at Brentford emphasizes:

  • Directness, pressing & quick transitions.

  • 🔁 Wingers who can efficiently shoot early and supply crosses.

  • 🧩 Collective buildup, fewer tap-ins, more creative movement.

Son’s strengths:

  • Clinical early shooting and off-ball movement.

  • Strong chance creation (key passes/xA elite).

  • Leadership & relentless running — ideal for Frank’s pressing setup

Areas to adapt:

  • Increase shot volume or efficiency — his 7 goals came from just 7.14 xG.

  • Sustain involvement across all competitions, not just through assists.

  • Maintain fitness: injuries (e.g., post-April foot issue) limited some impact

3. 🎯 Goal & Assist Projection (2025‑26)

Scenario Shots/Season Conversion Goals Assists
Baseline (PL only) 50 shots (1.66/90 × 38) 18–20% 9–10 9–11
Sharper Efficiency 50 shots 20–22% 11 10
More Chances Created 55–60 shots 22% 12–13 10–12

Summary:

  • Realistic range: 9–11 league goals, 10 assists (19–21 G/A total)

  • Optimistic case (if efficiency + volume both up): 12–13 goals, 10–12 assists (22–25 G/A total)

4. 🧭 Conclusion

Son is an excellent match for Frank’s system: early shots, interplay, pressing, leadership.

With slight increases in shot volume or sharpness, he’s poised to match or even exceed his 2024–25 output.

Expect 20+ combined goal involvements, with 12+ this time as goals, growing into the role Frank envisions.

I feel, if he stays, that we could see a Sonny revival this season.

I’m optimistic.

So, who is coming up tomorrow in Part 5?
