Manchester United have been linked with a surprise move for Moise Kean this summer.

The Italian striker reportedly has a release clause in his Fiorentina contract which will become active next month.

However, Troy Deeney has urged the Red Devils not to pursue a move for the former Everton forward.

Kean spent four years at Goodison Park between 2019 and 2023, but spent most of his spell out on loan.

After scoring just twice in 29 Premier League appearances in his debut season, Kean went on loan to both Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

Just 12 months later, though, and he could be on the move once again.

According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, United are showing an interest in the 25-year-old.

The report adds that Kean has a £44.5million release clause in his deal which will be active between July 1 and 15.

Despite their interest, Deeney has told United to steer clear of a move for the Serie A star.

The former Watford man told Breakfast: “No, 25 years old, moves around a lot. Doesn’t seem like a long-term fit for Man United.”

Kean enjoyed an impressive debut season with Fiorentina last term.

In 44 appearances across all competitions, he scored 25 goals as they finished sixth in Serie A.

Those strikes included 19 in the league, with only Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui scoring more Serie A goals.

The forward also still has four years remaining on his contract, which expires in 2029.

Meanwhile, United have already bolstered Ruben Amorim’s attacking options this summer.

Brazilian international Matheus Cunha sealed a £62.5million move from Wolves earlier this month.

The 26-year-old has penned four-year deal at Old Trafford following his arrival.

It comes after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored just 17 goals between them across all competitions last season.

Despite their poor form, Hojlund has vowed to fight for his place at United after interest from clubs in Italy.
