Spurs are interested in Italian U-20 centre-back Coppola |
Good morning from the blog that supported like supporters should support, by backing the club, despite all the negative noise.
Winning mentalities don’t follow the noise like sheep.
They have a vision, a belief and they stick with that belief.
Yes, there have been some personal ups and downs mentally, Djed Spence, Yves Bissouma in particular, and I don’t know whether this success changes their mentality or not.
You find out about people in adversity, not when things are going well.
All these players should be able to handle adversity better after this season, a successful season, despite some still wanting to drag it down or diminish it.
Enjoy the transfer window where we have been told by Postecoglou that we are looking for young players with Champions League experience.
Tottenham Hotspur Interested in Francesco Coppola – Current Situation
As a reader quite rightly pointed out after my youth mentality article, our youth are winning trophies, which can only help change the mental culture at the club.
To that end, buying youth and bringing them through with young peers who have been there and done it is important.
Enter today’s news after our recent Irish signing, Mason Melia, passed his driving test and then scored 2 goals in 2 minutes, one running from his own half to change game for St Patrick’s who were 1-0 doen
At the moment, the only source reporting Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Francesco Coppola is the article published on 22 May 2025 by journalist Alfredo Pedullà.
According to the report, the Europa League Champions 2025 have scouted the young right-footed centre-back, born in 2005, on several occasions.
Coppola is currently on loan at Vis Pesaro but owned by Pisa, and Tottenham Hotspur is said to ‘appreciate’ his performances.
He stands 1.95m tall, which for us proper people, is 6ft 4in, and Transfermarkt value him at £167,900 (€200,000), so if we think he has some quality, put him through our youth system.
We then have the option to play him if he is good enough or sell him at a profit.
However, there have been no reports yet of official contact or concrete negotiations.
Coppolo transfer history |
Player Background
-
Coppola recently completed the season with Vis Pesaro, participating in the Serie C playoffs.
-
He previously played in the youth systems of Torino and Juventus before moving to Pisa, where he found consistency in their Primavera (U19) side.
-
In August 2024, he was loaned out to Vis Pesaro, where he made 26 appearances and scored 3 goals in the 2023/2024 season.
-
Coppola made his Italy U-20 debut in March in an away game against Turkey, but he is also qualified to play for Cuba.
What’s Next?
At present, there are no further confirmations or in-depth reports from other Italian or international media regarding Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Coppola.
It remains to be seen whether this expression of interest will develop into a concrete move during the upcoming transfer window.
Cristian Romero
In other transfer news, let me ask you this question:
Has the UEFA Europa League triumph made Cristian Romero too expensive for Atlético Madrid?
Romero was named Man of the Match in the final and also named Player of the Tournament.
He hasn’t just been a defender, he has been the leader of the backline and one of the leaders of the club.
I proposed he be made a vice-captain in an article before the announcement, same with Maddison, because of the mentality issue.
Atlético de Madrid’s head coach, Diego Simeone wants him at the LaLiga club for the same reason.
While the UEFA Europa League triumph has solidified that belief, his price will have increased as a result.
“I gave everything for this shirt. I came here with the mentality of making history, and I did it.” Cristian Romero
He has won a World Cup and two Copa Americas.
Atlético do not want to pay more than £41.97 million (€50m) for him which is nowhere near enough.
I’d suggest it is at least £20-25 million (€24-30m) underpriced.
What fantastic deal are they going to offer us in return, Gallagher dirt cheap?
Koni De Winter
Tottenham Hotspur have submitted a £20.15 million (€24 million) offer to Italian Serie A side Genoa for 22-year-old Belgian defender Koni De Winter, according to reports from La Repubblica and Corriere dello Sport. Source: Ground News
De Winter, who joined Genoa permanently from Juventus in 2024, has impressed in Serie A, making 24 appearances and contributing to seven clean sheets this season.
His versatility allows him to play as a centre-back, full-back, or defensive midfielder.
Spurs, of course, have a good working relationship with Genoa through Fabio Paratici, but through Cristian Romero and Djed Spence too.
Genoa reportedly value De Winter between£21 million (€25m) and £25.18 million (€30m), suggesting Tottenham Hotspur’s initial bid may fall short of the club’s expectations.
Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in De Winter aligns with our strategy of recruiting talent from Serie A, having previously signed players like Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero and Radu Drăgușin.
The competition for De Winter’s signature is intensifying, with Inter Milan, Napoli, Manchester United, West Ham United, and Crystal Palace also expressing interest.
With Genoa aiming to raise funds through player sales this summer, De Winter’s future remains uncertain.
Paratici will know all about him through his Juventus link, given he was another player who was a part of their academy.
Given the level of interest and Genoa’s valuation, Tottenham Hotspur may need to increase their offer to secure De Winter’s services.
The right-footed centre-back had a ‘breakout’ season.
He stands 1.91m tall, that’s roughly 6ft 3in and he is known for his versatility, capable of operating as a centre-back, right-back, or defensive midfielder.
⚽ THBN Scouting Report: Koni De Winter

De Winter is known for his composure on the ball and ability to initiate plays from the back. He favours short passes and is adept at switching play, contributing to his team’s build-up phases.

-
